4th of July

The coolest kids at the parade!

A little pre-fireworks kettle corn

Playing with his light bracelets. He decided to piece them together to make a rope and twirl it around. Definately all boy!

Up close and personal with a hot air balloon. The owner let the kids get up close and touch it.

There's a new sheriff in town!

McKinney's annual 4th of July celebration is called Red, White, and Boom. They have a hometown parade and car show in the morning, ice cream crank off around noon, and a party and fireworks in the evening. The kids have such a great time and talk about it until something bigger and better comes along...like Christmas!

"A" is for Alligator

The kids really enjoy craft time and I found a website (http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/) that has great ideas for easy crafts to help with letters and phonics. Of course the best part was putting on the googly eyes. The little things in life that bring so much fun....paper, glue, and googly eyes!

Play Ball!

That was a bad call, Ump!!!

Roger was able to get some free tickets to the Rough Riders minor league baseball game in Frisco. It was an evening game, so we dined on hot dogs and saw spectacular fireworks for the encore. The kids had a great time and did a lot better than we thought they would, having to be in seats that long. The good thing about the Rough Riders is that it is a small stadium where every seat is close to the action, and there is always something going on around you. They are asking to go back, so it looks like this might be a steady thing we treat them with. Summer Fun!

Father's Day 2009

We went to Mom and Dad's the weekend of Father's Day to celebrate it and Mom and Dad's birthday. They fixed burgers and we had a great time with all of the family there. Julia and JP still talk about seeing the baby birds in their tree. Such Nature Hounds!

Swimming Like a Fish

Come on in! The water's nice!

Splish Splash! She was the teacher's pet!

Cruise ship model?! I think maybe!

What a handsome little man!

We signed the kids up for swim lessons at the city pool here in McKinney. The kids had a great time and JP finally learned that getting his head wet is not the end of the world. Their favorite thing was to go in the shallow part and play "red light, green light" kicking their feet. Too much fun!

Heard Museum

Taking pictures of the penguins in the trees (I know....that imagination going wild!)

Daddy and Daughter

Little man with a big stick

That looks like it could be trouble!

Mom and Dad gave us a membership to a zoo that has reciprocal benefits to several zoos and museums near our home. One of those is the Heard Nature and Science Center in McKinney. We went and had a great time. The kids always have fun taking hikes to find animals and different plants and flowers. We hope to go back soon when it's not so darn hot! I don't know if it's clear in the video, but she was explaining why you have to be very, very quiet so you can see the animals!

Fishing in the Creek

When the weather got warm enough to play outside in the water this spring, I took the kids to the creek that runs through our neighborhood park. I let them each have an aquarium net and told them to catch the fish. There are tiny little fish that swim up and down the creek. They had such a great time running and splashing that they never even saw any fish!

S-M-O-R-E-S!!!!!!!!!

Now let's see...how do I do this while making the biggest mess possible?

Success!!

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!

The kids had their first taste of s'mores on our camping trip. Needless to say, it wasn't the last time they asked for s'more either!

The many hats of Julia

Julia thought it was funny when she took off her ball cap and put on her "bucket cap". Silly Girl! Always trying to make us laugh!

Always Something to Discover

The kids really enjoyed all there was to see and find on the beach at Lake Ray Roberts. There were lots of muscle shells and different rocks to explore, not to mentions bugs!

Do You See What I See?

The kids used their binoculars to see and look for everything imaginable on our camping trip. They were looking for sharks in the lake and bears in the forest. I'm soooo glad we didn't see either one!
